The 300G of 1961 marked the final expression of Virgil Exner’s “Forward Look” and continued to represent perhaps the ultimate American automotive statement of the era. Stylistic revisions for 1961 included canted headlamps and a revised rear-end treatment. According to a test by Car Life, the 375 BHP, 413 CUI wedge-head V8 offered ample performance with its tuned dual cross ram intake, propelling the 4,200 lb. 300G from rest to 60 miles per hour in just over eight seconds. For 1961, there were just 337 300G convertibles built with only 124 believed to be remaining.
In 2013, this 300G was an Antique Automobile Club of America Senior First Prize winner. Finished in the year correct color of Mardi Gras Red with a tan interior, the car is equipped with many of the available “goodies,” including very rare factory correct air conditioning, power everything, swiveling front seats and chrome wire wheels.

One of the things that sets the 1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible apart from other cars of the era is its powerful 413 cubic-inch V8 engine. This powerful engine provides plenty of power and torque, making it a true thrill to drive. The car is also equipped with a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, which provides smooth and seamless shifting.
The interior of the 1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible is just as impressive as the exterior. The car is outfitted with luxurious leather seats and a host of other high-end features, such as air conditioning and power windows. The dash is also beautifully designed and features a full array of gauges and controls.
The 1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible also features a stunning convertible top that can be easily raised and lowered, allowing you to enjoy the open air while you’re on the road. The top is also made with high-quality materials and is built to last.
